Well Halloween definitely isnt the same here in Costa Rica But the good news is that a few members decided to decorate their door in halloween so i wouldnt feel so sad about it! hahahaha I am sending pics
Well
yesterday was a great day! Our member who is inactive came to church
and brought her two little daughters. And as we were starting Sacrament,
we were completely surprised because their dad walked in and we
definitely were not expecting that. Basically we have a drama going on
here in Belen because the mom is separated from her husband and is
living with her boyfriend... but her boyfriend doesnt want anything to
do with the church and now her exhusband wants to change and wants to be
baptized. Geezo we have no idea whats going to happen. #Drama
This
week was also our Semana De Milagros so we spent the week finding new
people to teach! Me and my companion drew out the Plan of Salvation on a
whiteboard and then put it in front of the temple! On Friday we were
knocking on doors and found a 17 year old girl. She told us she couldnt
let us in but we both felt like she needed to hear our message... so we
taught her about the restauration while standing in front of her
house... as we finished the lesson my companion noticed that she had a
CTR ring on... We both were shocked and asked her where she had gotten
the ring. She said five years ago her father has given it to her as a
gift and she had always worn it but never knew what the letters stood
for. We showed her our matching rings and explained that it a saying we
use in the church... Choose the Right. It was a cool moment and we
missionaries dont believe in coincidences. We will see what happens with her!
Also
this week we were walking down the street and a woman was walking
towards us with her daughter. We stopped her and introduced ourselves...
When we asked if she had ever talked to missionaries before she told us
that she lived in Alejuelita and two missionaries had knocked on her
door the night before! They promised her that if she prayed she would
recieve an answer.... then the very next day after praying she left for
Belen to visit her boyfriend and just happened to run into us. She said
that maybe this was an answer to her pray and we assured her that it
was! And she promised to call the missionaries in Alejuelita to meet
with them again.
i am just reminded over and over again that God works in mysterious ways! And there are no such things as coicidences!
AND
to end... this week we had an activity on health with all of the
missionaries in our zone.. we talked about the Word of Wisdom... why we
should drink water.... why we should take care of our bodies... and we
ended up weighing ourselves in front of everyone. Lets just say i have
gained a lot of weight here in Costa Rica. I blame it on the rice and beans. Oh my goodness the food here is so amazing! ahahahah
Also
this week we watched the movie, Errand of Angels. If anyone wants to
know what my life has been like for the past nine months, just go watch
that movie Which reminds me... THIS WEEK I WILL HAVE REACHED THE MIDDLE OF MY MISSION #ninemonths #timegoesfast #October27th
