EMAIL FROM YOUR FAVORITE SISTER MISSIONARY

Week 50

Well friends and family its official. I am 20 years old todayπŸ˜’πŸŽ‰ I know you are all probably sick of me saying this but I just can believe how fast time goes! This morning we got to go on adventure trying to find a package sent from my awesome family! And we ate pinto... so you could say its been a good day :)

This week not much happened... just visiting and visiting some more :)

I did have an experience yesterday night that was interesting! Me and my companion were talking to an inactive member outside of his house. We were on a dark street but were standing under the only street light, so we were not in the dark. As we were talking to the member, two drunk men came stumbling by and were talking so loud that we were able to hear their conversation. They were both saying that Jesus Christ doesnt exist and that he is man´s invention...and other things that were not too nice. I watched them as they walked past and stumbled into the dark street...as we were still standing under the street light... I thought of how symbolic it was and how grateful I was for the light we had not only literally but figuratively. I thought about this world we all live in and how each one of us has the opportunity to walk in the light.... or stumble around in the darkness. We each have the choice to believe in Jesus Christ and his gospel and to walk through life with him.... or choose to walk alone. I listened to these two men say horrible things about Jesus Christ and then walk off into the darkness and in that moment I couldnt have felt more grateful to be a Missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I couldnt have been more grateful for the light we have! I love my job πŸ˜‰ I get to share this wonderful light with every single person I can come in contact with... and you all can too!

D&C 50:
24 That which is of God is light; and he that receivethlight, and continueth in God, receiveth more light; and that light groweth brighter and brighter until the perfect day.                             25 And again, verily I say unto you, and I say it that you may know the truth, that you may chase darkness from among you;

Love you all so much and hope you have a wonderful week! And I challenge you all to share a little bit of the light we have as believers and followers of Jesus Christ :)❤

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR

Week 47

Well there is not much to tell you all this week so sorry this is going to be a super short email! This week was Semana De Milagros again and it was so fun visiting the other areas and being the zone! They are all great :)

Last week I was real sad that my old companion left but God really does have everything worked out and I know that everything happens for a reason! My mini missionary (Hermana Wong) Is so amazing! She is from Costa Rica but we had a good ol time telling everyone that she was from China and is learning Spanish. I also cried just a little bit because every time we told people I was teaching HER spanish they all laughed and said, ``you cant teach Spanish because you still struggle with it`` hahahahha it was a good week filled with laughing and bullying πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‚ I am grateful we get to be companions even if it is only until I get a real companion. She is a great example and I have already learned a lot from her :) I LOVE HERMANA WONG ❤[?]

Monte de la Cruz Part two:
Today our zone headed back up to a hike called Monte De La Cruz! It is so beautiful... only I am a little worried to head back to Utah because I was definitely feeling cold on the hike πŸ˜‚

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! THE NEXT TIME I TALK TO Y`ALL CHRISTMAS WILL HAVE ALREADY PASSED! πŸŽ…πŸŽ„❤ Love you all so much and I hope you all have a wonderful christmas and a happy new year!!

BITTER SWEET WEEK

Week 46

So lets just say this week I cried a lot! I have no idea what happened but my wonderful companion, Hermana Terrones was sent home to Mexico on Thursday. It is crazy how everything can change in a second! We got the news at 8 o´clock at night and at 3 in the morning we left for the airport with the AP´s to drop her off. There were lots of tears and I am still in shock that she really is gone! I spent four days in a trio with the sisters in Ojo De Agua and we kept having to travel back and forth between Belen and Ojo. And the saddest but best part is that ALVARO AND ANIELKA GOT MARRIED AND BAPTISED WOOOOOOOO!!!!! My companion was not there to see it... but I know she was there in Spirit! We have been working with this family since August and it was such an amazing thing to watch them finally take this step in their lives!

And I got to be with the famous Hermana Hubble and Hermana Ramirez in a trio this whole week! We had a good time together :) But sad to say our trio has come to an end. Today we headed for the Mission Office to meet my new companion! AND she is a mini missionary! Which is basically means a member from here in Costa Rica that is going to be with me until Christmas! Her name is Sister Wong and I know you are all jealous that I get to be with a Chino until Navidad πŸ˜‚[?]

So it was a crazy week filled with baptisms and weddings and tears and new companions. But I am learning so much from every experience I have and I have realized that sometimes we just have to trust that Heavenly Father knows what he is doing... We have to trust that he has a plan for us and even though sometimes its not very fun, in the end he knows what is best for us. I cant wait to find out what adventure God is going to throw at me next. πŸ˜‰

Miss you all and hope you have a wonderful week!!
